The Ghost's Silent Scream: ProlougeHow do you react when somebody you love dies? Sad? Angry? Distort? For me, I was surprised. When my mother woke me up that morning, at 4AM when it was still dark, I was half expecting her to tell me there was a burglar in the house or the house was of fire or even that aliens had invaded and now we had to praise our new alien over lords and build them pyramids as a sign of our faith. “Jake, sweet heart,” she said quietly, as if it was a secret. “It’s grandma. She….passed away a hour ago.”
I was stunned. That’s the only way I could describe it. I was truly and utterly stunned. At first I thought it was some sort of sick joke grandma was making and the nurses that called my mother were in on it. Normally such activity would happen at noon and mid day, yet in this late afternoon, a stranger emerged from the undergrowth.
The newcomer was a young man in his late teens. He had light brown hair and mid green eyes. He was carrying a bag that contained a towel and a pair of boxer shorts. The young man’s name was Nathaniel or Nathan for short. Nathan had decided earlier to have a swim in the lake since it was such a warm and glorious day t
